CIVL Radio is pleased to report that though pledges are still coming in, and the count goes on, after a $700 + silent auction, a sold out Gala event at The Reach Gallery and Museum with You Say Party, Oh No! Yoko, Little Wild, The New Atlas, Casey Ambrose and The Parish of Little Clifton, as well as our #CIVLBattle, Punjabi Poetry Reading at the Khalsa Diwan Society, and the very first CIVL Drive-In Movie heard live on 101.7 FM, we’ve demolished our stretch goal of $10,000, and as of today have cruised over the $12,000 mark in funds raised to Amplify Your Community!

Stay tuned to hear what’s next on the docket for CIVL 101.7 FM and our plans to move on from here in Amplifying Your Community and rocking the new school year!

OH No! Yoko Release and Real Boys on CITR!

Host of CIVL Radio Earshot Chart program Popularity Contest and member of MMVA winning band You Say Party Stephen O’Shea is in a brand new band called Real Boys who played last night live on CiTR 101.9 FM in Vancouver at UBC, for the program Live from Thunderbird Hell, and will also be playing Jam in Jubilee for CIVL Radio on Thursday, July 21st!

Check out the podcast which should be up soon by clicking on the program title above! Past performances on the show have featured Abbotsfordians Knife Knife and The Hot Moonbeams, who will also be performing at Jam in Jubilee, as well as Canadian greats like Julie Doiron of Eric’s Trip fame, Polaris Prize nominees Shotgun Jimmie and members of Sloan!

Two members of Real Boys are also in Abbotsford phenomenon Oh No! Yoko who will be releasing their brand new EP in Vancouver on Canada Day!

Jam in Jubilee 2011!

Jam in Jubilee 2011 is just around the corner! Starting Thursday, July 7th, Jubilee Park in Old Downtown Abbotsford will be host to music, arts, and vendors every Thursday evening through August 11th!
